During Fall Arts Weekend, learn and work with experts in workshops on traditional mountain crafts. This all-inclusive weekend includes 2 nights lodging, 5 meals, step away art classes, and workshops lead by some of the region’s most respected artists and artisans. Blacksmithing with Fred Loving

Gather around the forge and anvil to learn basic blacksmithing while you craft useful tools and holiday trinkets.


Cane Bottomed Stools with Charley Crain

Relax in our historic woodshop with master carpenter and Head of Maintenance Charley Crain as you work with primitive tools building and caning a traditional inspired stool.


Foraging with whitney Johnson

Join Appalachian of The Year and TikTok star, Whitney Johnson the Appalachian Forager as you learn the tradition, history, and skill to forage for edible and medicinal plants. You’ll be in the woods and in the kitchen making salves, tinctures, and who knows what else!


The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, provides operating support to Pine Mountain Settlement School with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
