Randal Pfleger examines donation of weatherization supplies
Pine Mountain Settlement School Receives Donation from Henkel Corporation
In late January, Pine Mountain Settlement School received a generousin-kind donation of weatherization materials from Henkel Corporation
based in Avon, Ohio. The products, marketed by the brand name Duck,
include an array of weather-stripping, pipe insulation, electrical
socket sealers, HVAC duct tape, and water pipe heating cables. Pine
Mountain Settlement School staff will be installing these materials
over the next month in the three largest buildings on campus: Draper,
Laurel House, and West Wind. Weatherization and energy efficiency are
high priorities for the sustainability initiative at Pine Mountain and
the installation of these products will lead to reduced demand for
electricity, propane, and fuel oil and decreased energy costs for
heating and cooling. In addition, the donated products will help
support a PMSS workshop series on energy efficiency, energy
conservation, and weatherization in 2009. Pine Mountain
would like to thank Henkel Corporation for the product
donation to support our sustainability efforts. For more information
