Open to youth 8 and 18, this 6-week series explores traditional woodworking. And will meet every Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:00 until November 11th.
Students will begin their wood working journey at Pine Mountain Settlement School’s saw mill, where they will see a demonstration of turning logs into useable boards, then spend a few classes perfecting their skills making a couple traditional Appalachian toys. Once the toy projects are complete, students will begin designing and building their own Mountain Dulcimer. Our last class, a Master Musician will share some basic songs and give a concert to the group.
